REINFORCED CONCRETE GROUND BEAMS
Reinforced concrete ground beams are most commonly used for linking the piles together and to provide a platform for further superstructure construction. Reinforced steel cages are constructed on site, to the engineers specifications and placed in the excavated trenches, which are then connected to the piles with steel bars. The beams are then cast with concrete.
REINFORCED CONCRETE SLABS
A damp proof membrane is laid on the prepared ground within the beams. steel reinforcements are connected together and laid on top, and the slab is then cast in concrete.
REINFORCED CONCRETE RAFTS
Rafts can be used as an alternative to ground beams for lighter constructions i.e. conservatories. Layers of reinforced steel mesh are connected directly on to the piles and concrete is poured over and levelled to form a raft, which can then be directly built upon.
